I have really gotten off track lately. I have still been eating clean, but not really being thoughtful and intentional about what goes in my face. As a result, I have picked up a few pounds and it really annoys me, because I know how hard it is to get rid of it.... I sure don't want to have to lose that same weight again. But I will! Oh, yes, I will!
One thing I have always liked about eating clean is that I don't really feel the need to keep track of things... points, calories, carbs... none of that. The only thing I ever kept track of were the number of times I ate in a day... and the hours between meals so that I was sure to stay on at least somewhat of a schedule. But this week I have been writing down everything I ate. I need to focus on it a bit for a while in order to retrain my brain. And it has started to worked. I am down 2 pounds since Monday! I don't have a lot to (re)lose, but enough that I need to pay more attention, obviously. My intention is to track my food and exercise for the month of June. I'll let you know the final outcome!
I'm pretty sure the thing that derails my progress is treats. We all want them, but even clean treats should be eaten in moderation. And I really love making them for MR. But just because it's clean, doesn't mean you can eat an unending supply of it! So I am really limiting treats, but not cutting them out completely! This week I made a batch of raw Almond Joy. I especially love things that can be made quickly, and these definitely fall in that category. I just have to keep track of how many I am eating, because they sure are yummy!!!
For this week, due to some other things going on in my life, I have made a complete schedule of meals. Usually, I just have eggs or oatmeal for breakfast, leftovers from supper for lunch, and then plan supper. Snacks are usually fruit and cheese, fruit and nuts, fruit and nut butter, something like that. But this week, you get the benefit of my entire meal plan! I hope you enjoy it!!!
And let me just say right up front, you may not agree with my perspective of "clean eating" and that's okay. In my mind, it's about no white flour, no processed sugar, and no processed foods. It's worked for me, so that's what matters to me! And by "worked," I mean, my thyroid meds have been reduced, I lost weight, and I feel super!
