A Plan and Recipes to Go with It!

Somebody mentioned to me the other day that I post a lot of dessert recipes on my Facebook page.  And she's right!  Personally, I feel like cooking the meals to be clean is pretty simple.  Stick to basic stuff, and don't add sugar or flour!  A pot roast in the slow cooker with onions, steamed vegetables, grilled chicken... these are all things that come pretty naturally for me, because that's how I grew up.  For me, the harder part has been about having a snack or dessert that I can eat.  But I shouldn't assume that the same is true for everyone else.  So I will do my level best to provide a balance between treats and eats.  How's that?

So this week, I am providing again, a general map of what I think I will be eating. From meals to snacks to desserts.  I hope you find this helpful.

So, some notes about this plan.  On my eating plan, eggs are either poached or hard boiled, because that's how I like to eat them.  Not sure it's a good idea to fry them, because that just doesn't seem like a very healthy option.  Oatmeal is made one of two ways:  1) old fashioned oats boiled on the stove fresh each morning or 2) slow cooker steel cut oats, with single servings warmed up each morning.  Oatmeal can be served with your choice of milk.  Or, for a really yummy treat, drizzle a little real maple syrup on it and stir it up.  Greek yogurt is always plain.  We like Fage for its creaminess, but any good Greek yogurt will do.  We get our whole wheat buns at Trader Joe's.  Be sure to read labels on anything you buy.  It needs to be whole wheat flour and no sugar.  We order our whole wheat pretzels from
